The Southern Virginia Recreation Facilities Authority is pleased to announce that the Smith River Sports Complex will be the new home of the Piedmont Youth Soccer League. Beginning with the Fall 2009 season, all PYSL recreation and home travel games will be played at the Smith River Sports Complex. The fall season will begin on September 12 and conclude on November 14. The League will also host travel soccer tournaments at the Smith River Sports Complex on November 14-15, 2009 and in March, 2010.
The PYSL just concluded a successful spring season with 39 teams and over 400 soccer participants and looks forward to continued growth at its new home. The Smith River Sports Complex consists of five tournament quality, full-size, fields with two FieldTurf synthetic surfaces and three irrigated Bermuda T-10 grass fields. The Complex also features Musco lighting, SunTrust Pavilion with meeting space and restrooms, concessions, picnic shelters, playground and ample paved parking.
