The Harvest Foundation threw a party Sunday, treating more than 3,000 visitors to a celebration of the grand opening of the Smith River Sports Complex.

Byron Corcoran has watched his grandson play soccer at sports complexes in Winston-Salem and Greensboro, N.C., but he said they don't compare to Smith River Sports Complex, which just opened in Henry County.

"This is a celebration more than anything," says Henry County Deputy Administrator Tim Hall. "The community's invited to see what they've helped pull off."
